City Tour from 11-12.20

Lake Front and Scandals: Copenhague de la belle époque and the Modern Breakthrough

with authorized tourist guide Paul Hartvigson.

 

The tour explores a busy area of Copenhagen, by Nørreport (the North Gate),  which transformed from city ramparts and tranquil moats into a vibrant and attractive area in the 1870’ies and 80’ies. We take in a corner of the Old City with pedestrian areas and side streets, passing the Rosenborg Castle, and visiting the Palm House in the Botanical Gardens, old Municipal Hospital and streets of Belle Epoque buildings and shops in a city in the lakeside quarter, which is both central and residential. The tours ends at the Inner City Cultural Centre, a former tram depot.

Dance Instruction The tour will take you to Inner City cultural centre at approx. 12.20 and between 12.30 and 14.00, where Martin Vittrup and Niels Hartvigson will instruct you in the classic Quadrille dance Les Lanciers, a beloved Danish favourite, which will also be danced at the New Year’s Ballroom instruction at Inner City cultural centre/Indre Bys Kulturhus is located at Charlotte Ammundsens plads 3, 1359 København K, Denmark
